Het failliet van Labour

...far from signifying a healthy ideological war over the direction of Labour, today’s bitching’n’backstabbing is evidence of the death of Labour and its social-democratic ideology. It is because the party no longer has an overarching vision to bind its members and supporters together, no political or ideological glue, that those members and supporters now spend more time texting rumours about each other to sweaty blokes at the tabloids than setting out plans for how to make Britain better. It is because the party has no grassroots support, having been utterly abandoned by working men and women, that it can behave in this childish, vindictive, self-destructive fashion without having to worry what any support base might think of such Shakespearean depravity.
