UKIP demonstrated the partys rapid insurgence at grassroots level last night with two stunning by-election wins in Haverhill, winning a majority of the vote in both elections. The party took both a St Edmundsbury Borough Council seat with 54% of the vote and a Haverhill Town Council seat with 64% of the votes cast.
Dit voorspelt natuurlijk bijzonder veel goeds voor UKIPs perspectief bij de komende Europese verkiezingen... maar dat niet alleen. Volgend jaar zijn er nieuwe verkiezingen voor het parlement in Groot-Brittannië. Gezien het Britse systeem is het van groot belang om lokaal goed georganiseerd te zijn.
Ja, dit gaat echt de goede kant op.
